CLUB RULES:
Membership in Racqueteers is for single or married people who play tennis at an
intermediate level (3.0) or higher level and who are at least 21 years old.
SATURDAY EVENING TENNIS PARTIES:
If you have signed up to play at a Saturday evening party but cannot play due to an injury or to some other unforeseen event, then contact as soon as possible the Board member that is handling the party so that the list of players that will be coming to the party can be kept up to date. No refunds will be made if a member cancels at the last minute on the Saturday of the party. If the Board member is contacted before the date of the party, then the member that was unable to play will not have to pay if he (or she) signs up to play at the next Saturday evening party.
SUNDAY INDOOR TENNIS:
1. All players (regulars and substitutes) should be on their assigned court and ready to play at 6pm. NO GRACE PERIOD.
2. It is important that all of the courts be filled with four players. If a member that signed up to play for the Sunday indoor tennis league fails to play or fails to get a substitute, then there would only be three players on the court. Since this creates a problem for most players, the member that failed to play or get a substitute may be removed from the Sunday indoor tennis league.
3.
Substitute Policy: If a member that signed up for the Sunday indoor tennis
league cannot play, then that member should get a substitute by contacting at least five players from the substitute list. Once you find a substitute, call the Play Coordinator to inform him of your substitute. Whether the substitute reimburses the member for the cost of the evening play is between the member and the substitute. The Racqueteers Club will not issue refunds to league members for missed playing sessions.
4. If
the regular member of the Sunday indoor tennis league has contacted at least five members that are on the substitute list and could not find a substitute, the member should contact the Play Coordinator, Sanford Schmolka at 847-215-2652. If the Play Coordinator is unavailable, then one of the Racqueteers Board members should be contacted. The member should provide the names of the players from the substitute list that were contacted so that the Play Coordinator does not contact those already contacted. Members who rely on the Play Coordinator or Board members to find a substitute more than twice in a league season of 8 games or more than 10 minutes late may be dropped from participation at the discretion of the members of the Board.
SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS:
If a regular member of the Sunday indoor tennis
league contacts you to substitute, then please do your best to reply
promptly so that others can be contacted if you are unavailable. If you are a substitute player and you know that you can play on any given Sunday, please inform the Play Coordinator in advance. He may know of an upcoming playing opportunity.
